One of the fastest growing cities in the Asia-Pacific region, Pune is known for its manufacturing and automotive industries, and renowned education and research institutes. A front runner in e-governance reform, the city has implemented computerization of ULB functions including Property Tax, Building Plan Approval, and Citizens’ Grievance Monitoring. Pune Municipal Corporation was awarded JNNURM Awards of Excellence for Best Multi-modal intergrated project (2008) as well as Mercer Quality of Living Emerging City 2015. The City is ranked at 31 on the all India Swacch Bharat Ranking (2015). The City is covered by AMRUT, Smart City and NUIS schemes under MoUD.
