The Smart City Challenge Stage 2: Smart City Proposal Pune

Leveraging its rich cultural and natural heritage, strong human capital and strong business environment as key strengths, Pune aspires to become one of the most liveable cities in India by solving its core infrastructure issues in a “future-proof” way, and by making its neighbourhoods beautiful, clean, green and liveable.

Pune’s idea is to invest 2,200 cr in 5 years in selected local area (Aundh-Baner-Balewadi (ABB)) to fully transform liveability across all dimensions so that it matches best-in-class global cities. Pune has identified 19 ICT solutions in mobility and water, the #1 and #2 issues across all interactions and research. These 19 ICT solutions will cost ~700 cr (both capex and opex for 5 yrs).
