Integrated Command and Control Centres (ICCCs) equip cities to do more with less by graduating to real time data driven decision making with better situational awareness in an integrated manner, as compared to traditional silo-ed departmental approach of city administration.
ICCCs are expected to deliver specific outcomes focusing on bringing positive impact on day-to-day life of the citizens.
In order to drive improved citizen services from ICCCs in our smart cities, it is high time that we assess the current maturity level of individual functions/use-cases/services in the ICCC, using a standard methodology, identify the gaps, and address them proactively.
Accordingly, a draft Maturity Assessment Framework document along with illustrative relevant use cases has been prepared as a toolkit. This toolkit aims to help Smart Cities optimize their ICCC investment through do-it-yourself exercise to identify gaps under Functional, Technological and Governance aspects of ICCC and make mid-course amendments to enhance effectiveness.
For cities, which are yet to commence implementation of ICCC, this toolkit will provide a frame of reference for a robust implementation, which addresses people, process and technology dimensions of an effective ICCC.
Your comments and suggestions would be invaluable for us as we try to put this document together for the use of cities. We request you to review and provide your comments/ suggestions/ recommendations on this consultation paper here by 15th Jan 2019.
