Overarching DocumentCOVID -19 is a viral infection caused by a coronavirus that has not been previously identified in humans. It is a novel (new) coronavirus first identified in Wuhan, China. Since its discovery, its geographic distribution continues to evolve. Provision of safe water, sanitation and hygienic conditions play an essential role in protecting human health during all infectious disease outbreaks, including the current COVID-19 outbreak.
