Energy Efficiency in Cities (Self-paced)

About this course: The e-learning program has been developed under the City Energy Efficiency Transformation Initiative (CEETI) managed by the Energy Sector Management Assistance Program (ESMAP) and has benefitted from a collaboration between ESMAP, the World Bank Climate Change Group and the Online Learning Center. The production of the e-learning program has also benefitted from financial support from the Korea Green Growth Trust Fund.

This program provides a series of learning courses to support city leaders enhance the energy efficiency and sustainability of cities around the world. As has been noted by Anita Marangoly George, Senior Director of the World Bank's Energy and Extractives Global Practice "Because of the critical role cities play in economic growth, urban energy efficiency measures and planning can help put national economies on a path toward green and inclusive growth, and generate many economic, health, and environmental benefits". Each learning course addresses a sector or cross-cutting issue that contributes to enhancing the overall energy efficiency of cities. Each course seeks to provide city leaders with practical knowledge on the assessment of energy efficiency potential, the evaluation of associated benefits, the key issues to take into account, and different implementations and financing models and options as well relevant references and real life examples.
