Abstract:

Since 1966 local governments in the greater San Diego region believe that collaboration is the best way to solve issues and challenges facing their communities. This Esri Smart Communities Case Studies show how GIS technology has been a valuable tool in creating a collaborative environment.

Smart communities are local governments that look for ways to build safe, healthy, resilient communities for their constituents. Citizens are calling on governments to be more transparent, efficient, collaborative, and productive. A government that meets these challenges is a Smart Community.
