Compendium on Environment Staistics India provides detailed statistics on five core parameters namely, bio-diversity, atmosphere, land/soil, water and human settlement suggested by the Framework for Development of Environment Statistics (FDES) of United Nations Statistical Division in 1984. The compendium is expected to serve the needs of Environment planners and policy makers as well as other government and non-government organisations and research inistitutiuons working in the field.
