This study reviews the national urban missions of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (Smart Cities Mission, AMRUT, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Swachh Bharat Mission), analyzing the mission guidelines and implementation processes that have helped nudge cities towards becoming child friendly. Presenting the various interventions adopted by different Indian cities under these missions, it provides a number of scalable best practices which can be emulated by cities globally. It also discusses a Version 2.0 of every mission, and recommendations on what it would need to have to be childrenfriendly.
