The Smart City Challenge-Stage 2: Smart City Proposal-Faridabad

Vision: Faridabad aspires to be an innovation hub for manufacturing by leveraging its economic strengths and  transforming itself to a cleaner, greener city by introducing smarter way of living.

The area chosen for an area-based development measures 1267 acres and comprises of sector of 19, 20A, 21B and 21D. The chosen area has diverse land uses (group housing, commercial, industrial, institutional, urban villages etc) and forms the fringe of old/core of the city.

With an overall objective to reduce carbon emissions caused by vehicles and traffic congestion,  the proposed Faridabad Smart Traffic and Transit Management System seeks to achieve the goals of (a) To promote eco-friendly mobility (b) to promote public transport and NMT.
