The Indian Institute of Public Administration is organizing Orientation Training Programme on Urban Administration from August 10-12, 2016. The Programme is sponsored by the Department of Urban Development, Government of National Capital territory of Delhi, New Delhi.
Providing basic services (e.g. water supply, sewerage, urban transport) to households and build amenities in cities which will improve the quality of life for all, especially the poor and the disadvantaged has been made a national priority in recent times. The AMRUT mission has been launched by the government of India to rejuvenate the urban sector governance.
Towards making the mission successful and effective, Capacity Building and a set of Reforms have been included in the Mission. Reforms aims at the improvement in service delivery, mobilization of resources and making municipal functioning more transparent and functionaries more accountable, while Capacity Building intends to empower municipal functionaries and lead to timely completion of projects.
