Impactys on the environment are the very core of any discussion about more sustainability in the urban transport sector. This Module therefore takes a closer look at the negative consequences of transportation on the natural environment and human well being, and outlines measures to address these problems. It covers the following issues: Local air quality issues and management, moise, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions of urban transport, adaptation to climate change, and finally the relationship between urban transport, adaptation to climate change, and finally the relationship between urbann transport, social welbeing and health. The Module not only shows how to mitigate the negative impacts of transportation, but also explains why transport has an important positive role to play for social cohesion and participation within the urban society.
