Design Your Smart City

The “Delhi Design Festival”  (DDF- www.delhidesignfoundation.org) is a new initiative by USID Foundation (Universal, Sustainable , Inclusive Design for social change -www.usidfoundation.org) to Celebrate Design & Design Thinking with a mission to create a DESIGN AGENDA to support quality and sustainable urban experience. “DESIGN your SMART CITY” conference, is the opening event of DDF and is scheduled from Feb 23rd  to 25th, 2018 at India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. 

The conference will deliberate “How Design can be a key driver to manifest and deliver on the Smart City concept in the form of envisioning Product, Services, Systems, Experiences  and Interactions between city and citizens - in sum the Quality & Sustainable Urban Experience”. 

The conference will also discuss the Urban Experience under, but not limited to following sub themes:

• Urban Mobility and Accessibility
• Public Service Delivery
• Environment, Consumption and Waste Management
• Shelter, Public Places, Communities and Culture
• Visitors and Tourist Experience
• Design Enabled IoT, ICT and Digital Technology for Urban Experience

The conference will also include a day long Design Thinking &  Co-Creation Workshop on Urban Challenges on Feb 24th , 2018 at IHC to offer a very intense, collaborative and interactive engagement between Municipal Leaders and Senior Designers (including Product, Service, System, Experience, Interaction, Communication Designers and Urban Planners  etc.) and also other participants representing technology, business, social and development domains.  The Workshop will apply Human-Centric approach and Design Thinking and Systems Thinking methodology used by design professionals, to work on specific challenges presented by city/municipal leaders in a collaborative and co-creation workshop format with them.

DDF is targeting professionals across  Service Design, Experience Design, Branding, Visual Communication, Interaction, Social, Urban Planning, Architecture, and Industry, Associations, Institutions, Policy Makers, Implementing agencies, development organisation, NGO's, etc.
