We present the Standard Operating Procedures for “Swachh Roads”. It enlists various infrastructure norms, assessment & inspection procedures and checklists, and sanitation and waste management best practices to be followed by roads. For uniform cleanliness guidelines it is essential to have a standard operating procedure to ensure that the concerned authority maintains some set standards of cleanliness on the roads and the adjacent areas under their supervision. The purpose of this SOP is to improve current cleanliness levels of the roads in India, with active participation from users. An assessment framework has also been defined in this document, which can help the concerned authority to improve its cleanliness & maintenance processes and achieve a greater level of cleanliness than the existing ones for the roads under their supervision.
