Taking a cue from these efforts of the MoUD, Bhopal's PBS system is aimed at providing an organized dimension to sustainable transportation in the city. The scheme is planned to act as a feeder service to the Bhopal BRTS in the areas with high BRT ridership potential. It is also considered to act as a mode for last mile connectivity to the residents who commute daily for work, education and recreational activities and to encourage the use of cycling in Bhopal city. Taking the message forward, on the occasion of World Car Free Day, Bhopal is organizing a national workshop cum expo on PBS scheduled on 22nd September 2017 at Bhopal. The perspective participants will be the selected smart cities, municipal corporation and PBS consultants.
The objective is to not only provide key learnings and insights into planning and implementation of PBS but also provide a great opportunity to the industry to showcase the products related to PBS systems. The workshop will feature a series of interactive sessions with city authorities as well as private players in the field. In addition to plenaries, the workshop will also feature an expo. Apart from the product showcase opportunity, the Expo will also feature a model street on the concept of "Streets For All".
