The Smart City Challenge Stage 2: Smart City Proposal Rourkela

The city of Rourkela originated and grew in association of The Rourkela Steel Plant; it is spread along the banks of rivers Koel and Sankha and is home to majority of tribal population form Bihar, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh and West Bengal. The city wants to focus on economic diversification through entrepreneurship development, improve living condition through reduction in pollution, and improve mobility by increasing transport infrastructure while promoting use of public transport and non motorised vehicles.
