Guiding Urban GrowthThis discussion paper examines the importance of urban planning for achieving sustainable urbanization. It shows that urban planning is a key component of promoting Local Economic Development (LED); balancing development and environmental protection; improving access to land, adequate housing and basic services; and promoting inclusive and safe cities in Afghanistan.
