Smart City- Empowering India Awards 2019’ has been designed to felicitate, recognize and encourage Smart City SPVs, ULBs and ULAs which are behind the successful execution of the mammoth dream of developing 100 smart cities in India. The award will also recognize pioneering projects that aim to make cities more livable, sustainable and economically viable by honoring best practices and models in the smart cities concept.
The objective of the award scheme is to reward cities, projects and innovative ideas that are promoting sustainable development in urban cities in India, enhancing quality of life, innovation, competitiveness and efficient management.
‘Smart City- Empowering India Awards 2019’ has been conceptualized by Knowledge Partner- National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), supported by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Govt. of India and organized by Arrucus Media Pvt. Ltd.
