Department of Local Self Government, Government of Rajasthan and RUDSICO organized a 3 day Orientation Course on AMRUT from 28.04.2016 to 30.04.2016. Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS), Bengaluru was the training entity that conducted this programme as part of the MoU signed with the Government of Rajasthan under the Individual Capacity Building Programme of AMRUT which is supported by Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Government of India (GoI). The first module of training for the Engineering batch was concluded successfully with excellent participation by the 33 participants representing various Municipal Corporations and Councils from Mission cities in Rajasthan.
The three-day course focused on discussing the challenges faced by urban India in the context of the Mission, and understanding the Mission guidelines and toolkit comprising thrust areas, components, funding, processes, reform management, monitoring and review process. The modules introduced participants to the urban challenges, potential projects and possibilities under the Mission, and contextualized similar transformations through established practices from India and across the world.
Participants in the course were engineers with a diverse set of designations representing engineering departments of 26 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) out of 29 Mission cities in Rajasthan. The Government of Rajasthan had nominated 40 participants out of which 33 participants attended this orientation course.
