With his focused vision and great leadership qualities, several innovative concepts and ideas were incorporated in the 'Smart Cities Mission' vision of Pune. The effort towards citizen participation to crowd source ideas through the 'Maza Swapna, Smart Pune' contest, where citizens could propose smart solutions to key issues facing the city was widely acclaimed. He played an instrumental role for Creation of a Vision Community under Pune Smart City Citizen Engagement Campaign in one of the largest envisioning exercises ever conducted in Indian history. He has been closely involved with the Smart Cities Mission since the very beginning and believes that this is one of the most progressive missions for transformation of the urban landscape of the country. He firmly believes that cities need to be built around communities and that technology as a medium also has to be used in way that helps create bottom-up innovation.
His ambitious plan of 'PUNE Towards Urban Transformation' of USD 5 Billion for transforming Pune over the next 5 years has been the foundation for Pune’s development effort in the recent future and its roadmap for the future. Projects are at different stages of planning & implementation. He has also initiated sustainable livelihood programs called ‘Lighthouse’ to empower underprivileged youth and also operationalized digital literacy to bridge the digital divide.
His direction and leadership has helped Pune City receive several international and national accolades and recognition like selected in 100 Resilient Cities Programme - Pioneered by The Rockefeller Foundation (100RC). Moreover, PUNE SMART CITY proposal called 'Reimagining Pune To Become India\’s Most Livable Smart City' has been selected as a finalist in the City Award category out of 250 entries from 45 countries for the World Smart City Awards in Barcelona in the year 2016-17. He is the winner of BW Business World award for the Smart City Person of the Year 2017.

Jagan Shah is Director of India’s apex urban think-tank, the National Institute of Urban Affairs, which supports the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs with policy formulation, implementation and monitoring of urban programs. NIUA executes a diverse portfolio of projects, conducts new research, produces proof-of-concept and promotes ecosystems for enabling urban innovation. Shah is a professional architect, historian and theorist trained at the School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi, the University of Cincinnati and Columbia University.
He has been a teacher and writer and has advised a number of corporate and development sector clients. He served as the founder CEO of Urban Space Consultants from 2007 to 2010, Director of the Sushant School of Architecture from 2011 to 2012, Independent Director of Delhi Integrated Multi-modal Transit System from 2015 to 2018 and has been a Trustee on the board of Clean Air Asia since 2016.

These include Smart Street redesign, Smart Placemaking, Smart Public Bicycle Sharing, Smart E-toilet specially for women and children, Citizen engagement programs and initiatives, Smart Elements which includes WIFI for citizens and a Command and Control Center that integrates data from various sources, Smart Street Lighting, Smart Solar Power, Smart School, Smart Health and few others.
During his tenure prior to the current assignment, his special achievements include: spearheading computerization of Land records at Southern Command, leading station survey of defence lands at Dehradun and Chakrata Forest, development of GIS survey for PMC property, completion of various construction projects that included sports museum and sports ground in the city and the development & implementation of E-governance software for 39 departments in the city.

He has also been honoured and acknowledged by the India Geospatial Forum by conferring Lifetime Achievement Award in year 2012 for his pioneering contribution to the Indian Geospatial Industry by creating awareness and demonstrating benefits of this wonderful technology in different walks of life in India.

She has led multi-disciplinary teams to prepare conservation management plans for iconic sites of national and international significance in India and abroad such as the Red Fort in New Delhi, world heritage site of Ellora Caves in Maharashtra, heritage buildings in the Golden temple in Amritsar, Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha in Nepal, monuments in Bagan in Myanmar and several others. UNESCO appointed her as the lead consultant for preparation of the Cultural Heritage policy for Punjab. Her work has been recognized by the World Monuments Fund in New York who appointed her as the project management consultant for scoping and coordinating conservation of 43 protected monuments in Madhya Pradesh.
CRCI India Pvt Ltd, established by her in 1996 has undertaken work in the area of heritage conservation for ASI, national and state level government bodies, UNESCO, Asian Development Bank, public trusts and others. In his long professional Career spanning more than 25 years, he has handled multispectral infrastructure projects in Urban Development, Public works, Water Resources, Ports, Rural development and in NITK, Karnataka.
His areas of interest include innovative & fast track Construction Technology, Green Buildings, Renewable Energy, Energy efficient systems and process automation.
Currently he is the Chairman of the State Technical Committee for smart city mission in Karnataka and is instrumental in the Technical appraisal and approval of SCM projects in the seven smart cities of Karnataka.

Rahul Kapoor is an officer of Indian Railway Accounts Service and is currently working as a Director in the Smart Cities Mission in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. He has acquired his Bachelors degree in Economics and a Masters in Business Economics from University of Delhi. In his earlier assignments, Shri Kapoor has worked as Director (Banking) in the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. As Director Finance in the Ministry of Railways, he has gained expertise in design and implementation of Public Private Partnership projects and framing of innovative schemes for non-fare revenue generation. In his early career, he has gained experience by working in divisional and headquarters level positions over Indian Railways. He has also worked extensively in Rail Land Development Authority on financial appraisal, modeling and management of land development projects.
In his current assignment since July 2018, Shri Kapoor has been overseeing the operational issues related to implementation of Smart Cities Mission projects and has been involved in program design of various initiatives of the Ministry related to innovation, capacity building, standardization, livability, and governance of Smart Cities.
Dr. Gulshan Rai holds a doctoral degree and M.Tech and has over 30 years of experience in different areas of Information Technology which include different aspects of e-Governance, cyber security, cyber laws and several related fields. At present, he is Chief Information Security Officer, Prime Minister’s Office. Prior to that he was National Cyber Security Coordinator, Government of India in the Office of Prime Minister. Earlier he was Director General, CERT-In (Indian Computer Emergency Response Team) and Group Coordinator of E-Security and Cyber Law Division in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
Sanjay Kumar is from Madhya Pradesh cadre of Indian Administrative service batch 2011. He has over 23 years of experience in administrative services and currently working as Chief Executive Officer for Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation Limited and Bhopal City Link Limited with a view to transform Bhopal, a City of Lakes, Tradition & Heritage into a leading destination for Smart, Connected and Eco Friendly communities focused on Education, Research, Entrepreneurship and Tourism.
He has also worked as Additional Commissioner- Bhopal Municipal Corporation, Chief Executive officer -Jila Panchayat, Raisen and Sub Divisional Magistrate and at various places in the state. He has also served the state of Madhya Pradesh as State protocol officer for two years. He was fellow participant for certificate course in Urban Development Infrastructure Programming-Cities development Initiative of Asia, Singapore.
His knowledge and wisdom can be seen in the projects he is heading in Bhopal Smart City as well as Bhopal City Link Limited.
Apart from urban development and transportation projects, Mr. Sanjay has successfully proven his role in administrative assignments as well.
Sameer Unhale, an Indian National, Born in 1969 is a practitioner in Urban affairs dealing with Urban Infrastructure, Urban water and Sanitation , Urban Transport, Urban Livelihood and Smart urban Governance.Mr. Sameer Unhale Is Currently Working as the Additional Municipal Commissioner , Thane Municipal Corporation & CEO of Thane Smart City Ltd. He has earlier worked as the Mission Director of the Swaach Maharashtra Mission . This Mission is has ensured Clean Urban Maharashtra in its 310 urban centers in the state .He has also coordinated efforts with various multilateral agencies on Environment projects. An Urban Practitioner, he has worked in several cities as Municipal Commissioner like Dhule, Ulhasnagar and Nanded . He has achieved major revenue enhancement/stabilization of Municipal finance and has been responsible for introduction of innovative projects in Urban Transport (first PPP model in city bus service in cities of Maharashtra in 2002) and Community Participants/feedback (students surveying 25% of city for civic service feedback) which was recognized in the National Water Award 2009.
He is a rank holder in Masters in Sociology and Public Administration in 1993 from University of Poona, Pune. He has graduated in Physics. He has also completed World Bank module on Development Policies and Municipal Finance and Executive Program with Harvard Business School.
He has also worked in Urban Poverty Alleviation Program for more than 2 years and was responsible for formulating action plan/programme guidelines and monitoring in 250 urban local bodies of the State of Maharashtra. Earlier he had also worked at the Directorate of Information Technology responsible for State Wide Area Network/LAN and E-governance.
Som Satsangi is the Managing Director for Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in India. In this role, he has the countrywide responsibility for revenues and profitability and ensuring the greatest leverage from HPE’s Enterprise Group business.
In his 19 years with HPE, Som has served numerous leadership positions and made significant progress strengthening HPE’s sales discipline and improving simplicity, predictability and consistency in the way the company works with its partner community.
Prior to this appointment, he was the Vice President of Sales for HPE’s Enterprise Group business. In this role, he provided leadership and direction for the growth of Commercial Enterprise and Public Sector accounts for HPE across India; building capacities through development of programs and solutions, enhancing selling capabilities and operational excellence and managing the P&L for this customer segment.
Previously, Som led HPE’s server, storage, networking and infrastructure software business in India. This included the market-leading server range comprising HPE ProLiant, Superdome, Integrity and NonStop, as well as storage solutions under StorageWorks and Infrastructure Software such as Insight Software, Virtual Server Environment (VSE) and HP UNIX operating system and HPE Networking.
Before that, as the Director of Sales of HPE India’s Technology Solutions Group, he was responsible for overseeing all sales and driving continued growth for this business.
With over 30 years of experience in the IT Industry, Som, a firm believer of talent management, also championed various talent development programs across HPE.
