Prerna is Sr. Manager and Lead for Urban Development at WRI India. She has over 13 years of experience in the fields of research, project management, urban planning, real estate, architecture and academics. Her work lies at intersection of urban planning and sustainable transport. She provides technical inputs in urban development and accessibility projects and helps form and sustain partnerships with government and non-governmental organizations involved in urban development with objective to ensure on-the-ground change.
Notable areas of work are Policy interpretation and formulation, Delhi Raahgiri initiative, Transit-oriented development, Land value capture, Safe access, Neighbourhood Improvement Plans, Financing Sustainable Cities Initiative's (FSCI) called The Cityfix labs, Large scale developments (residential, townships, commercial), Project management, Form-based Codes (FBC) with MoHUA for Smart Cities, capacity building under AMRUT and other such initiatives with MoHUA.
Prior to WRI India, she worked for government organization, non-governmental organizations and private/corporate organizations. Her portfolio had projects such as Master Plans, Area & Integrated Development Plans, feasibility studies, project formulation and real estate construction projects. Besides, she has been associated with premier institutions like School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi as visiting faculty as well as Guest lecturer and with CEPT Ahmedabad as Industry expert.
Prerna has a Master’s degree in Planning (Housing) from School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi, India; a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Nagpur University, India and a diploma in Principles and Practices of Real Estate from Indian Institute of Real Estate, Pune, India. Besides, she has undertaken several Certificate courses on managing cities.
