BASIIC Global Photo Contest

In the last 10 years, digital cameras and mobile photography has revolutionised the environment surrounding image-making. Citizens around the world are now able to share a story worth a thousand words in digital files that are less than a thousand megabytes. This digital revolution around the globe continues to evolve to create new standards and explore new horizons for discovery of ideas, interventions, innovations, find acts of kindness to become powerful messages for change, and give voice to issues and individuals that often remain unspoken.

It is in this regard, that NIUA in partnership with GDIH has launched a global photography challenge – “The BASIIC Global Photo Contest'' – An eye for inclusivity. The challenge is open from 3rd December 2020, which also happens to be an annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The challenge will provide an opportunity for photographers and photo enthusiasts around the world to capture and to enrich the image-making culture for professionals and amateurs alike with emphasis on real life solutions that have positively impacted the lives of PwDs by promoting inclusivity in some form or the other.
